He will be missed, but never forgotten

We were fortunate to know and work with Dr. Dave Theno, a lion among men. We are heartbroken by his sudden passing, and will miss his wit, wisdom, and compassion for humankind and animals alike. Dave saved countless human lives through his nationwide leadership in the field of food safety. He also saved countless cats and native birds through his vision and advocacy for the Lanai Cat Sanctuary. The Sanctuary has lost a loyal friend, past board member, mentor, adopter, and ace cat trapper.

Many of you have asked what you can do to honor Dave's life and legacy. The Lanai Cat Sanctuary has created a fitting tribute to this most remarkable, compassionate, and loving man. We have established the Dave Theno Memorial Fund – to honor Dave's memory and continue his legacy of caring. For years, Dave stepped up to share his wisdom, compassion, and generosity to help the sanctuary succeed. Two years ago, Dave was the first donor to give toward an expansion project at the sanctuary.

Your gift in his memory will fund further dreams for expansion to help Lana'i little "lions."
